“STATION TO STATION”

Solo Exhibition

An exhibition at the Stockholm Transport Museum. The photographs presented here were from various series taken in subway systems in various cities around the world. The exhibition ran from September 2016 to March 2017.

In the subway, everything feels cyclical—the trains, the stations, the darkness between them. Even the passengers who get on and off, who push and shove, seem to echo each other, caught in a rhythm that never quite ends.
For me, though, the subway was never just a system. In my childhood Buenos Aires, it was an adventure. To descend into a labyrinth of tunnels with their stale air and rushing crowds, where the trains announced themselves with a blast of musty warmth and a shriek that pierced your ears—it was like stepping into another world. The passengers felt like characters from an unfolding story.
Perhaps that early fascination stayed with me. My photographic journey began in Buenos Aires, beneath the surface of an old and worn subway system. I wanted to capture a portrait of the city and its people—life in transit, as a kind of mirror, or distillation, of the life above.

After Buenos Aires came more cities.

WILD STRAWBERRIES ON THE ROAD

Solo Exhibition

An exhibition at Gallery Fotografi in Stockholm. The photographs were part of the Wild Strawberries series of photographs. The exhibition ran for two weeks in April 2024.

Wild Strawberries

This is a series of photographs I have chosen to call Wild Strawberries. The subjects, places, and time periods are diverse, most taken between 2023-2025.
Most of the images belong to the street photography genre—images taken of what I encounter while walking the streets. In the streets there is searching, but there is more of finding. Working with the raw image is a dialogue where the original suggests how to work with it, how to approach it and tackle it. Although the subjects may be documentary, the intention is always to pull the image away from the documentary and take it to where it reveals something more. Photography is document and memory, but it is also trace. Trace of the passage of time, of man, of the world. Silent trace also of mystery.
Reality is a torrent, and in that movement instants of beauty, mystery, testimony abound that sometimes I am fortunate enough to capture. The everyday has become invisible through familiarity; photography has the possibility, like all art, of lifting the veil and letting us see or intuit what lies behind.
As for my style, I let things happen and hope that something recognizable emerges for those who see my photos and unconscious for me, like the style of my handwriting.
In Sweden, where I live, we go to the forests surrounding most cities to gather mushrooms, and the best part is when we find bushes that hide wild strawberries. We keep those precious places a secret.

THE BEAUTY IN THE EVERYDAY

Solo Exhibition

This second exhibition at Galleri Fotografi ran for two and a half weeks, serving in many ways as a continuation of the first—prompted by the strong response from the public.

THE BEAUTY IN THE EVERYDAY

Reality is a sign waiting to be unveiled. Worlds slip into one another in a state of constant flux. There is a quiet beauty in this endless movement—an invitation to see beyond the surface. This exhibition brings together new works alongside photographs previously shown at Galleri Fotografi. All the images share the same impulse: to illuminate the beauty and mystery that quietly surround us. A gesture that feels all the more necessary in times like the ones we are living through.

STOCKHOLM ART SALONG

Group Exhibition

Selected as one of the few photographers invited to exhibit at Stockholms Konstsalong — Sweden’s leading juried art exhibition, showcasing around 80 artists annually from over 500 applicants. The exhibition highlights some of the most interesting emerging talents in contemporary Swedish visual art.

Just as poetry uses language to reveal aspects of our existence that are otherwise inaccessible, photography unveils something words cannot fully express. Each photograph—no matter how ordinary its subject may appear—captures something unique, unrepeatable, and something unique, irreversible, and defining. My work varies in theme and style, depending on what I meet in the world. What remains constant is my wish  for the image to tell a story, to awaken emotion, and to spark the imagination.

L’ŒIL DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE PORTFOLIO

Wild Strawberries

In my photography, there is searching, but even more, there is discovery. Reality is a permanent change, and in that movement, I find moments, forms, geometries that surprise me and from which I create images. Images are memory, and memory is invariably an interpretation. A photo looks like reality, but it is merely an appearance; there is always an artistic choice behind it. Working with the raw image is a dialogue where the original suggests how to work it, how to approach it, and how to tackle it; one must be open to finding something that may often be very different from what was originally anticipated. Another encounter, another surprise. Traveling shakes and compels. It is disconcerting to suddenly be among unfamiliar shapes, times, colors, lights, and shadows. The strangeness compels my eye to find a sense in the new. The images somehow lead me to understand and organize that reality. In the play of geometries and forms lies the content, the meaning, and if desired, the message. The intention of each image is not to reproduce reality, but to allow each moment extracted from the unfolding scenes to say something that awakens memories, thoughts, or generates associations. Life changes, and I change with it. What sparks my interest and curiosity varies, and there is no central theme in my photos. In photography, the small and seemingly trivial can contain great depth and enchantment. Change and what interests me vary. Nothing is trivial when it comes to artistic expression, and anything can awaken my curiosity. I let things happen and hope that a style emerges, something recognizable to those who see my photos and unconscious to me, like the style of my handwriting.
